when we first moved in to this duplex unit with the backyard there was a family of lizards n a family of squirrels who Lived there first
our cat nine9 systemically removed the entire family of lizards n they havent returned
for a while the squirrels n I were at war
I h8d them tbh
they were annoying n always running around wild chasing each other up n down the trees barking n gathering mating 5 at a Time in the yard it felt like they were laughing at me when I would shoo them away
they stopped coming back after I sprayed them with the hose for destroying our newly planted peach tree a couple summers ago n for Being generally annoying lil creatures
but recently they’ve returned in the mornings with the scrub jays n we’ve Been making amends over walnuts
they are very annoying but they are cute too n jus trying to prepare for winter
nine9 the birds n the squirrels n I Be (co)existing in nature
having breakfast together on the days the workers arent laboring away at the new ADU n causing me psychological distress
things n seasons Change
